Our goal is to strengthen Jewish identity, continuity and our youth’s relationship to the people and land of Israel. Whether is it through a summer teen trip to Israel or a session at a Jewish residential camp, our Congregation encourages all teens to “Do Jewish” during the summer!
URJ Greene Family Camp is a fun, engaging, nurturing Jewish overnight camp where lifelong friendships are made. Kids gain confidence, independence and teamwork skills as they participate in a variety of activities each day. Life at camp is well-supervised and most of all, framed in Jewish values and culture. www.greene.org
The NFTY in Israel trip is a 5 week experience of a lifetime. Participants spend a week in Eastern Europe absorbing Jewish life before and during the Holocaust before spending the next four weeks in Israel. With new appreciation of the country’s historical context, participants explore the entire country as a group. A small group of Israeli teenagers joins the journey for about a week to give participants a real perspective of life in Israel. www.nftyisrael.org
As a URJ congregation, we strongly support sending kids to URJ-affiliated programs, such as Greene Family Camp, Kutz Camp, 6 Points Sports or Sci Tech Academies and NFTY in Israel. We also support participation in other Jewish summer programs, though URJ programs receive a scholarship priority.
