6th & 7th Grade
6th and 7th graders work together in a 2-year class. Using Chai Mitzvah’s NEW “Mussar Mixtape” curriculum, our students will be working in small groups throughout the year to discuss topics such as Trust in God, Gossip, Tzedakah Vs Gimilut Chasadim and more! The curriculum uses, music and lyrics to embellish the text-based lessons.
8th graders at CBI focus on Social Justice. This class dives into a number of “Hot Topics” surrounding the day-to-day life of our teens. Some topics include: Sports, Social Media, Food, Body Image, and Politics. 8th graders are taught by our long-time CBI member and religious school teacher, Dawn Forman.

9th graders study Comparative Judaism and Religions. We will discuss Orthodox, Reform, Conservative, and Reconstructionist Judaism during the first semester. Second semester, we will look at other religions such as Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism. This will be an exciting class with occasional guest speakers and/or field trips!
10th Grade (Confirmation)
with Rabbi Folberg
Students learn about so many interesting things in Confirmation: ideas about God, Jewish teachings about life after death, what it’s like to be part of a minority group in a majority Christian culture, how Jewish practice can help us stay grounded and in touch with our own hearts and souls in a crazy world that moves too quickly… not to mention all the wonderful, unexpected tangents that we explore as they come up!
