Our Congregation provides its members with many opportunities for social action.  By reaching out to people in need, we not only help to repair the world, but also strengthen our Jewish identity and provide an important example of our values for our children.

Social Action Projects: CBI members participate in a variety of hands-on projects to meet the immediate needs of those less fortunate.

Examples of these projects include:

    • Hosting Interfaith Hospitality Network at CBI four times a year. We are the only synagogue in Austin that provides housing and meals to homeless families in our facility on a rotating basis with other faith communities.
    • Regular food drives and volunteer days to benefit the Central Texas Food Bank.
    • Working as a Welcome Team for the Refugee Services of Texas.
    • Providing volunteers as needed for local community and interfaith needs.
