Jennifer Smith, Executive Director
Jennifer relocated to Austin from Atlanta. She received her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Behavioral Science at Drew University in NJ, her law degree and certificate in Governmental Affairs at University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, CA and her Masters of Public Administration in Non Profit Management from Kennesaw State University in GA. Prior to moving to Austin, she worked as Program Director at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta. She relocated to Austin to be with her husband, Daniel, whom she met at the JCC Maccabi Games in San Antonio. Jennifer and Daniel welcomed Joshua Aaron into the world on February 12, 2008. Come by the synagogue to meet us both.

Gail Manuel, Clergy Assistant
Gail Manuel is a native of Texas, born and raised right here in Austin! Gail currently lives in Pflugerville with her husband and two children. She attended St. Edward’s University. Over the past 10 years has worked in a variety of administrative and accounting roles. Gail enjoys reading mystery novels, writing short stories and poetry.

Jessica Jordan, Education Office Manager
Jessica Jordan was raised in Austin, TX and actually became a Bat Mitzvah here at Congregation Beth Israel! She appreciates growing up in a thriving Jewish home with a Cantor as a mother, and the many years she spent at Greene Family Camp - and in Israel - forging a very strong Jewish identity. She loves being back and educating children in the same warm environment in which she was brought up - CBI is home to her. Jessica received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Human Sexuality from the University of North Texas, and has been a teacher in the Dallas-Ft. Worth and Austin areas since she graduated. She joined the CBI staff in October 2006.
